With Damon Lindelof (Lost, Prometheus) at the helm, and being produced by HBO, the US heavyweight of drama, The Leftovers follows Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) as a father of two and chief of police in a small New York suburb, in the days following a Rapture-like event, in which 2% of the Earth`s population has just disappeared.
A World of Uncertainty
Based on Perrotta`s novel of the same name and with Lindelof as the show runner, The Leftovers could well shape up to be a highly personal human drama, that is quietly epic in scope, with lashings of mystery and uncertainty. Let us hope that Lindelof has learned from his mistakes on Lost and Prometheus, which gave us large amounts of mystery and very few answers.
