Hypernetec chats with Fitbug’s Ruth Hutchinson, at the Wearable Technology Expo in London, on March 19, 2014.

Ruth is Fitbug’s Director of Business Development. She talks about the company, its ethos and the rapidly developing wearables space.

Fitbug was formed in 2005, by fitness enthusiast Paul Landau. They were one of the first companies to develop an activity tracker with an online health and wellness program.

Until recently, they focused on promoting products and services into the B2B market. They are now actively moving into the consumer space.

Their latest product, the Fitbug Orb, is an affordable activity tracker, powered with a lithium cell that retails for £49.95. It does not need to be recharged, comes with free access to a web portal for life and can be wristband or clip-mounted. It is IOS, Mac, Android and PC compatible.
