hypernetec catches up with the fast-moving Tom Emrich, writer, speaker, consultant, community builder and founder of We Are Wearables.

Tom is a  natural connector and the earliest of early adopters. He was one of the first Canadian’s to wear Google Glass and is a focusing lens for fast-emerging technologies.

He makes regular appearances on Canadian TV and radio and was recently listed as the third most influential person in wearable tech by analytics firm Onalytica.

We Are Wearables is North America’s largest wearable tech community and exists to foster adoption and facilitate innovation in the wearable technology space.

The organisation welcomes startups, entrepreneurs, investors, brands, marketers, developers, designers and enthusiasts and has attracted over 3000 members since launching in December 2013.

Tom is also the Editor-in-Chief at Designers of Things, Senior Editor for BetaKit and writes about wearable technology for Mobile Syrup.
